Oh my, I can remember our days at Gallman High School at games back in the good old days and you grew into such an adorable, caring and understanding young gentleman. I remember us reconnecting by phone while you were driving from work near Edgefield County to home and we talked and laughed. Rest with Jesus, my dear friend and know you changed the minds and lives of many, many people young and old bc you gave of yourself , always. I will always love you my ‘little brother’ for “you and Dale and I are forever bound by love not by blood.” Much love and prayers to Mrs. Scott, Pamela, David, and the family.
Sincerely and respectfully,

Our deepest sympathy to your family. We came to know Willie through the NFL Alumni Tournament at Northstone Country Club in Charlotte NC. We became friends and I know all of the people who came in contact with Willie loved him as we did. He and I stayed in touch via the telephone and a few visits from time to time over the last 6-7 years when he would come to Charlotte. I would reach out to him and last spoke in January when he told me of his illness and progression. Willie and I used to laugh about our friendship and how you might wonder we stayed connected. It was through fellowship, caring and the telephone. We will miss him and God Bless you and your family. Here is my cell number if you would ever like to speak to me. 704-400-9775. Most Respectfully Dan Mills

We wanted to send our love to the family. Willie was and old school friends and neighbor who we all grew up with in Newberry. Such a sweet person. Look foward to the time when according to Revelation 21:3,4 "with that heard a loud voice from the throne say: "look! The tent of God is with mankind, and he will reside with them and they will be his people. And God himself will be with them.(4) And he will wipe out every tears from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain anymore. The former things have passed away."

I knew Willie as a wonderful brother in law, a loving husband to my sister Susan, and a kind and caring stepfather to Cassidy, Cameron and Caleb. Willie was a humble gentleman and God’s faithful servant. He never bragged about his many accomplishments. I’m just now finding out about them. His obituary reflects a life well lived; service to God, family and South Carolina. There are some people that are good at everything. He was one of them. Rest In Peace.

Deepest sympathy extended to the family of Willie L. Scott, Jr. As for man, his days are as grass; as a flower of the field, so he flourisheth. For the wind passed over it, and it is gone; and the place thereof shall know it no more. The seeds that fell from the grass blossom characteristics of Willie L. Scott which were kindness, integrity, caring, patience, loving and a man of faith in the higher power, the living God.
May you always cherish in your heart precious memories of Willie Louis Scott, Jr.
I will take the cup of salvation and call upon the name of the Lord. Psalms 116: 13
I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the
righteous judge; shall give me at that day; and not to me only, but unto all them that love his appearing. 2 Timothy 4: 7-8

I first met Willie as one of his professors at Carolina. When he went off to the NFL after a very fruitful college experience both academically and athletically, we remained in contact. We worshipped together at St Luke’s, Columbia, and he was mentor to my young son. He also saw to it that I take his brother Nelson under my wings at USC. Willie visited with us in Houston where we had relocated and presently reside. Naturally I was shocked to learn of his passing. On sharing the news with my son, he remarked simply: “he was a good man.” To his wife Pam and brother Nelson, be of good cheer and remain strong. Scottie is looking down at us all and waiting to greet you in his heavenly home.

Though much time had passed from those high school days of the 70s Scottie was still the same genuine and kind hearted person with that famous smile.
