Funeral services for Mrs. Sarah Edna Singley Graham age 83, will be conducted on Tuesday, April 16, 2019 at 1:00 PM at Bethlehem Baptist Church. Burial will be on Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at Ft. Jackson National Cemetery at 12 Noon.
Mrs. Graham passed away on Monday, April 8, 2019. She was born in Newberry, South Carolina, to the late Mary Means Singley and the late Ernest Singley. She was a faithful member of Lincoln Park United Methodis Church where she served in numerous capacities; Outreach Ministry, Feed the Hungry program, Methodist Youth Fellowship Coordinator, Communion Steward, Women's Day Chair, Usher Board #2, Gospel and Mass Choir. She was also a member of the Naomi Chapter #9 of the Order of the Eastern Star.
She received her education in the Newberry County Public School System. She received an Associate's Degree from Federal City College and a Bachelor's Degree from the University of The District of Columbia. She retired from St. Elizabeth's Hospital in 1986.
Mrs. Graham enjoyed traveling and cooking Sunday dinners for her family.
Mrs. Graham was predeceased by two sons, Joseph A. Graham and Jackie Lindsay; sister, Geneva Sligh, brother, Rickie Singley and a niece, Bernice Watkins.
Surviving are her devoted husband, Joseph Graham; children, Marilyn Platt, Furman (Denise, and Betty Graham; three grandchildren, Jacque Curtis, Amanda and Antione Graham; two great-grandchildren, Jacelyn Curtis and Kenneth McManus IV; sisters, Willa Brown and Hazel B. Starks; brother, Ernest Singley (Becky); great-aunt Arelia Means sisters-in-law, Alice Marie Singley, Verna Mae Robinson, Bernetha Gladney and Zella M. Davis; brothers-in-law, Ralph and JW Houston and Lewis Suber; other relatives and friends.
