Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Lucy Senn will be conducted Wednesday  November. 14, 2018 at 12 noon at Bethlehem Baptist Church, with burial to follow at Newberry Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Senn  was called home to be with the Lord. On November 9, 2018 at White Oak Manor Nursing Home, Newberry, SC,

Affectionately known as Lucy, she was born on July 6, 1936 in Person County, NC to the late McCarson Tabron and Ellen Cates Tabron Woods. She was the youngest of eight children, which five preceded her in death; Vida Thorpe, Elsie Torian, John “JT” Tabron, Cosson “Mack” Tabron and Anna Tabron. Two children preceded her in death, Douglas and Christopher, husbands preceded her in death, Sam Breeze, Malcolm Malone,Sr. and Freddie Senn.

At an early age, Lucy joined Lattisville Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Hurdle Mills, NC. She attended Pine Hill School, which was located also in Hurdle Mills, NC. Lucy eagerly joined her family in a singing group back in the 1950’s fondly called, “The Fireside Singers” a.k.a The Thorpe Family. She gave the group their first name because they usually always assembled around the fireplace singing gospel music.

As an adult, Lucy relocated to New York where she lived for 20 years before heading back south in 1981. Lucy loved God her family and children. She was loved by all, with her giving heart and good sense of humor. Known by her children as mom, ma, grandma mama dukes and my crazy lady just to name a few. Lucy was a great cook, especially those delicious homemade fluffy biscuits. So no one was surprised when she went to work at JF Hawkins Nursing Home in their Dietary Unit. She worked there for over 15 years before retiring in 2000. She was active at St. Matthews Baptist Church. In her spare time, she enjoyed fishing and going to AC with her family. And let us not forget the love she had for animals.

Her life will forever be cherished in the lives of her eleven children; Franklin Malone of Newberry, SC; Fulinda Rouse (Ernest) of Freeport, NY; Ellen Jackson (Joel) of Elmont, NY; Stephanie Nolan of Brooklyn, NY; Revella Malone of Brooklyn, NY; Keisha Cross (Roy) of York, PA; Pamela Suarez (Charlie) of Norcross, GA; David Malone of Brooklyn, NY; Shawn Malone of Atlanta, GA; Malcolm Jr. Malone (Co’Trika) of York, PA; Marilyn Malone of Newberry, SC, Step- Children; Freddie Jr., Stephanie, Ruby and Marcus; one sister, Clara Mable Farrish of Hurdle Mills, NC; one brother, Lee Artis Tabron of Durham, NC; one brother-in-law, David Torian of Hurdle Mills, NC;  50 Grandchildren, 68 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
