Lucille Maffett

Funeral services for Ms. Lucille Maffett, age 95, will be conducted on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Calvary Baptist Church.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Ms. Maffett passed away on Monday, October 22, 2018 at White Oak Manor - Newberry.  She was born in Newberry, South Carolina, to the late James Maffett and the late Josephine Marie Smith.

Ms. Maffett was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church until her health declined.  She was a member of the Usher Board, Sunday School teacher, Usher Board Choir and the Senior Choir.  She was also a member of Women's Home Aide Society #61 and Satterwhite Brown Chapter #26 Order of Eastern Star.

Ms. Maffett was predeceased by a brother, James H. Maffett.

Surviving are two daughters, Josephine C. Green and Cynthia M. Sanders both of Newberry, SC; seven grandchildren, Na'Treshia Griffin (Marcus), Naima Mason (Teri), Nathone Mason (Cynthia), LaShay Scurry, Sharai and Sharrell Stevenson and Kyshaunda Smith; eleven great-grandchildren, devoted nephew, James Maffett  Whitmire, SC; nephews, David and Horace Maffett of Thomasville, NC; niece, Anna Marie Maffett of Thomasville, NC; devoted cousin, Ygenia Kelly (Richard); devoted neighbor, Mildred Simpkins; long-time friend, Cleatha M. Rikard all of Newberry, SC, other relatives and friends.
