Welcome to the memorial page for

Harold S. Clark

March 21, 1928 ~ February 18, 2021 (age 92) 92 Years Old

Mr. Harold S. Clark entered into eternal rest in the arms of Jesus early Thursday, February 18, 2021 at home. Born March 21, 1928, he was the son of late Rosa Austin and late Miles Clark. He married the love of this life Bernice Jackson Clark until her earthly departure.

The union provided eight Clark children. He was a faithful and dedicated member of Bush River Missionary Baptist Church. You would find him every Sunday with a smile on his face, a firm handshake, and a few words of advance to carry you through the week!  He was also a member of Mt. Nebo Masonic Lodge #40. He retired from Owen Illinois after working numerous years in the textile and construction industry.

Harold enjoyed talking and telling you about all his adventures working construction.  Harold enjoyed meeting people, if he met a stranger, they would not be a stranger when they departed. Harold loved to garden and fish, he was always willing to share the fruits of his labor with family, friends, and the community. Harold was a man of many skills and talents often called a “Jack of all trades” by his children. One of Harold’s favorite sayings was “Don’t take no wooden nickels!” Meaning always be aware of your surroundings and the company you keep. He lived his life by that phrase and advised many others to live by the same phrase!

He leaves to cherish and carry on his memory three daughters-Rosalyn Ann Wilson (David) of Newberry,  Bernice M. Clark of Charlotte, NC, Rose Clark Kebe (Omar) Euless, TX, and one so,n Van Bryan Clark of Columbia, SC. He has two brothers Myles Frank Clark (Jessie Mae) of Greenville, and Robert L. Whitney of Newberry. Five grandchildren, David Lee Wilson, Miles Mackenzie Wilson, Nazir Lloyd Kebe, Quentazious Bonham, and Alexia Nicole Alexander, five Great Grandchildren and One great-great grandchild, two brothers-in-law, George Oxner and Thomas Coleman, one sister-in-law, Lena Smith Riley , and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and Special friends all of whom will grieve his passing but rejoice that he is resting with the Lord.
