Funeral services for Mr. Ellis Lindsey will be conducted on Friday, September 21, 2018 at 1:00 PM at Pratt Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in Mt. Moriah AME Church cemetery.

Mr. Lindsey passed away on September 7, 2018 in Denver, Colorado.  Born in Newberry County, he was the son of the late Roscoe Lindsey and Vanilla Lindsey.

Mr. Lindsey  was a United States Army veteran where he was a Paratrooper from July 14, 1953 to July 16, 1956 Company "C" and 'E" 511 Airborne Infantry; 11th Airborne Division Fort Campbell, KY July, 1953 to August, 1955; Company "H' 504 Airborne Infantry 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, NC, August, 1955 to July 1956. He had 27 two night jumps. During his military career he served in Goosebay, Labrador; Thule, Greenland and Sanderstrong, Greenland.  After leaving the military he lived in Roxbury, Massachusetts, Anchronage, Alaska, Elizabeth, New Jersey and he finally settled in Denver, Colorado.

Mr. Lindsey furthered his education by enrolling in electronic classes at Radio Television Training Association in New York, Colorado Mountain College, Emily Griffith Opportunity School and received a diploma in electronic repairs from Electronics Technical Institute.

Surviving are two brothers Willie Lindsey of Columbia SC and Alvin Lindsey of Elizabeth NJ. Three surviving sisters Christine Lindsey of Elizabeth NJ, Doreatha Lindsay of Newberry and Michelle B. Lindsay of Charlotte, NC; a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
