Ellen Brooks

Funeral services for Mrs. Ellen Brooks, age 79, will be conducted on Saturday, August 20, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Fairview Baptist Church.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Brooks passed away on Monday, August 15, 2016 at her home.  Born in Newberry County, she was the daughter of the late Northern Reid and the late Alice Cooper Reid.  She was a member of Fairview Baptist Church.

Mrs. Brooks was predeceased by her husband, Willie Brooks, Sr.; mother-in-law, Fannie Mae Brooks; father-in-law, John West Brooks.

Surviving are daughters, Denise Lopez, Lillie Brooks and Michelle McKnight all of Newberry, SC; Allison Harrison of Dunkirk, NY; sons, MacAllister Reid of Newberry, SC; Willie Brooks, Jr. and Michael Brooks of Brooklyn, NY; Shaiking Brooks of Greenville, SC; Tony Coleman of Charlotte, NC; sister, Elvira McArthur of New York; brother, Northern Reid of West Virginia; 42 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren, one aunt, one uncle, four daughters-in-law, two sons-in-law, three sisters-in-law, one brother-in-law, a number of other relatives and friends.
