Dwane "Pookie" Wroten, Sr.

Mr. Dwane " Pookie" Wroten, Sr., age 63, passed away on Tuesday, September 22, 2020 at his home.

Mr. Wroten was born in New York, New York to the late Samuel Wroten, Sr. and the late Elenora Allen.  He was a graduate of Newberry High School and a veteran of the US Army.

Mr. Wroten was predeceased by a sister, Betty Green and a brother, Napolean Green.

Surviving are his daughters, Latazma  Wright, Shameka Hair and Ruby Robinson; son, Dwane Wroten, Jr. all of Newberry, SC; sister, Evelyn DeWalt of Newberry, SC; brothers, Samuel Wroten, Jr. of Newberry, SC, Arthur Green of Whitmire, SC and Horace Green of Florida; 5 grandchildren,  special friends:  Sharon Davis, Gladys Oxen and Curtis Goudelock and a host of other relatives and friends.

Viewing from 5 PM to 7 PM Saturday September 26, 2020.

Graveside services will be conducted on Sunday , September 27, 2020 at 2:00 PM at St. Matthews AME Church .

All in attendance, please wear a mask or face covering and practice social distancing.
