Cleophus Caldwell, Jr.

Mr. Cleophus "Clee" Caldwell, Jr., age 74, passed away on Tuesday, January 26, 2021.

He was born in Newberry County on September 30, 1946 to the late Cleophus Caldwell, Sr. and the late Brucie Pitts Caldwell.  He was a member of Mt. Moriah AME Church.  Mr. Caldwell was a veteran of the United States Army.  He enjoyed grilling, cooking and catering and spending time with his grandchildren.  He was employed with Palmetto Pallets.

Mr. Caldwell was predeceased by three sisters, Lola Caldwell, Shirley Stephens and Amy Watson; two brothers, Moses Caldwell and Jacob Caldwell.

Surviving are his daughter, Felicia Williams, son, Bernard Williams both of Newberry, SC; sisters, Dorothy Caldwell of Prosperity, SC, Betty Hare (Horace) of Little Mountain, SC, Annie Praylow, Juanita Abbrams and Jarline  Sims ; brothers, Bobby Caldwell and Aaron Caldwell (Linda) all of Prosperity, SC; devoted mate, Shirley Williams of Newberry, SC; two step-daughters, thirteen grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, numerous other relatives and friends.

A graveside service will be conducted on Monday, February 1, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Mt. Moriah AME Church.  All in attendance are asked to wear a mask or face covering and to practice social distancing.
