Carrie Nell Heller

Funeral services for Ms. Carrie Nell Heller will be conducted on Thursday, August 27, 2015 at 11:00 AM at St. James AME Church.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Ms. Heller entered into Eternal Rest on Wednesday, August 19, 2015 in Queens, NY.  Born in Pomaria, South Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Sim Heller, Sr. and the late Eunice Livingston Heller.  Carrie Nell attended Hope Rosenwald School in Pomaria and moved to New York at an early age.  She joined Pilgrim Baptist Cathedral of Bushville in Brooklyn, NY and later moved her membership to St. James AME Church in Pomaria,SC. 

She retired from United Housekeeping Service, Inc.  Her love of children had her involved with the Brownsville Child Development Center.  She also was active in the Housing Tenant Patrol.  Her love of gardening and her green thumb produced a number of awards for her gardening expertise.

Carrie Nell  was predeceased by a sister, Margaret Heller Percell.

She leaves to cherish her memory two children, Cynthia Heller and Charles Heller both of New York City; grandson, Jace Avery Scott Heller of New York; four brothers, Alfred Heller and James K. Heller, Sr. of Pomaria, SC; Sim Heller, Jr. (Elease) of West Columbia, SC; Carroll Heller (Boonchoo) of Melbourne, FL; four sisters, Vivian H. Mitchell and Laura A. Heller of Columbia, SC; Bonita H. Lee and Deborah Robinson (Willie) of Pomaria, SC; three aunts, Inez Livingston of Pomaria, SC; Laura Livingston of Chicago, IL; Doris Heller of Columbia, SC; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
