Funeral services for Ms. Bernice Hall, age 73, will be conducted on Monday, September 24, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Fellowship Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 23, 2018 from 6pm-7pm at Pratt Funeral Home Chapel.
Ms. Hall passed away on Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at Palmetto Health Parkridge. Born in Newberry County, she was the daughter of the late Benson Horace Hall and the late Winnie Mae Davis Hall.
Ms. Hall was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church and was baptized at the early age of 19 at Brown Calvary Baptist Church in Thomasville, North Carolina and later returned to her home church of Fellowship Baptist. She retired from the Disabilities and Special Needs Board as a Human Services Support Specialist and from Newberry County School District as a bus driver. She was a long term volunteer with Whitten Center Parents Club and a passionate volunteer of foster care and children with disabilities.
Ms. Hall was predeceased by two daughters, Kimbley R. Hall Bowers and Sherry Hall; three sisters, Nellie L. Hall Flemon, Shirley Ann Hall Price and Elease Hall Heller; one brother, Benson Harden Hall; granddaughter, Jessica S. Bowers; and one brother-in-law, James Willie Bowers.
Surviving are one daughter, Genice Hall (Robert) Summers of Irmo, SC; one son, Benson Shay Hall of Myrtle Beach, SC; three sisters, Doristeen Bowers of Little Mountain, SC; Jerlean (Bobby) Coleman of Newberry, SC; Hazel M. Hall of Columbia, SC; one brother, Henry N. Hall of Pomaria, SC; nephew, James Rayford Hall (reared in the home) of Columbia, SC; six granddaughters, Shenice L. Hall, Kim Y. Hart, Krystal Y. Hart, Robyn L. Summers, Ebony L. Hall and Regan A. Summers; two great-grandchildren, Serenity C. Pratt-Hall and Cayden C. Johnson-Hall; daughter-in-law, Linda C. Hall of Newberry, SC; two brothers-in-law, Sim Heller of West Columbia, SC; George F. Price of Newberry, SC; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and family. A special caregiver and friend, Shirlene G. Johnson; dear friends, Mary Alice Burton, Daisy Mae Tobe, Julie Saunders and Susan Mullis.
