Calvin Eugene Wise

Funeral services for Mr. Calvin Wise, age 57, will be conducted on Sunday, January 21, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Antioch Baptist Church.  Burial will follow in the church cememtery.

Mr. Wise passed away on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at Newberry County Memorial Hospital.  Born in Newberry County, he was the son of Lillie Mae Lindsay and the late Eugene Bookman and step-father the late James Lee Lindsay.

He received his education in the public schools of Newberry County.  He graduated from Mid-Carolina High School.  Mr. Wise worked for several Logging Companies.

Surviving are two sons, Lafayette E. Lindsay and Angelo D. Lindsay; one daughter, Brendette R. Lindsay; mother, Lillie Mae Lindsay; brother, James S. Lindsay; two sisters, Dana Thomas and Michella Young; aunts, Vera Mae Gallman, Sudie Mae Wise and Johnnie Mae Bookman; uncles, David Lee Austin,  Henry Ellis Toland, Elmurray Bookman, Leroy Bookman (Rozenia) and Terry Bookman (Nita); great-aunts, Martha Ruff, Polly Hampton, Evelyn Broks and Avie Davenport; great-uncles, Willie M. Dewalt and Aaron Dewalt; 12 grandchildren, 1 great-grand, devoted friend, Cynthia Miller; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
