Mr. Willie James Hutcherson "Big Hut", was born to the late Robert Hutcherson and the late Minnie Mae Hutcherson. He passed away on Wednesday, June 1, 2022, at White Oak Manor-Newberry.
Mr. Hutcherson was a member of Metropolitan Baptist Church where he was a Deacon and a member of the Male and Adult choir. He retired from Kraft Heinz where he was employed for over 20 years. He will be remembered as a man who sacrificed for his family and protected his family. Willie loved cooking but what he loved the most was eating. He was a true ride or die Pittsburgh Steelers fan. His door was always opened to anyone in need. Mr. Hutcherson loved his church and enjoyed singing and watching wrestling.
Mr. Hutcherson was predeceased by his stepmother, Annie Mae Hutcherson, brothers, Olander Hutcherson, Troy and Roy Wadsworth; sister, Melissa Graham, and sister- in-law Carolyn Hutcherson.
Those who celebrate his life and cherish precious memories are his wife, Mary Hutcherson, sister, Shirley Cannon (Richard), brothers, Randy Hutcherson (Gwen), Tracy Hutcherson and James Wadsworth all of Newberry, SC, and Bruce Wadsworth (Priscilla) of Blair SC. Willie did not have any biological children however he was a major father figure to his nieces, LyTrasha Jones (Tyson), Tankea Jeter, and Shanesia Hutcherson, his nephew, Bruce Hutcherson (Valencia), his great-nieces, Tiundra Caldwell, Kadajiah Caldwell, his great-nephews, Otis Hutcherson (Kim), Ja'Mez Hutcherson, Jayvion Hutcherson, and Brian Caldwell Jr. all reared in his home. A devoted aunt, Nancy Chaplin, devoted friends, Wayne Dean (Tonya) and Benjamin Knight, a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and other relatives.
Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, June 7, 2022 at 1:00 PM at the Fred B. Pratt Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow in Newberry Memorial Gardens. Public viewing will be held on Monday, June 6, 2022 from 2:00 pm to 6:00 PM at the Fred B. Pratt Memorial Chapel. A mask is required to enter the funeral home.
