Ms. Rozene Cannon, daugther of the late Cleophus Cannon, Sr. and the late Essie Ruth Cannon, was born November 13, 1921, in Newberry County, South Carolina. On Monday, September 12, 2022 at White Oak Manor-Newberry, Ms. Rozene Cannon answered a call from Heaven and began her Eternal Rest with Jesus at the age of 100 years old.
She was a faithful and devoted member of St. Matthew A. M. E. Church in Newberry, South Carolina from an early age.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her five sisters, Elnora Green Allen, Eunice Cannon Goggans, Georgia Dawkins, Leslie Copeland and Essie Pearl Cannon; two brothers, Cleophus Cannon, Jr. and William Cannon.
Rozene Cannon leaves to cherish fond and loving memories: her nieces, Mattie Martin, Louella Bartelle, Cathleen King, Brenda Evans, Lorraine Benton Tammy Benton and Essie Benton; nephews, Arthur Green, Horace Green, Emmanuel Bento and Samuel Wroten and a host of great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews, great-great-great nieces and nephews as well as other relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.
Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, September 21, 2022 at 11:00 am at St. Matthews A. M. E. Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Public will be on Tuesday, September 20, 2022 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Fred B. Pratt Memorial Chapel. A mask or face covering is required to enter the funeral home.
