Paul Ellis, affectionately called "Red" by family and friends, was born in Washington, DC to Emily Brooks and Paul Ellis. He entered into Eternal Rest of Friday, January 13, 2023 at J. F. Hawkins Nursing Home.
He was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church and a graduate of Mid-Carolina High School.
Mr. Ellis was predeceased by his maternal grandparents Wesley and Daisy Mae Chaplin, paternal grandparents Coley and Annie Lee Ellis, and father-in-law, John White, Sr.
Mr. Ellis is survived by his wife, Catherine White; children, Antonio White of Jenkinsville, SC, Chayla Williams (Andre) of Chapin, SC, Tekeyia Sligh and Quinterra Baxter both of Newberry, SC; mother, Emily Brooks, stepfather, John Sol Brooks, father, Paul Ellis, stepmother Diane Ellis, sisters, devoted sister, Rhonda Brooks (Kenny) of Greenwood, SC, Erica Ellis and Krystal Ellis both of Maryland, Tracey Brooks of Columbia, SC, Lakisha Houston (Jermaine) of Newberry, SC and Shenitha Boyd of Rock Hill, SC; brothers, Anthony Ellis and Coley Ellis both of Maryland, Adam Brooks (Robin) of Chapin, SC; nine grandchildren, aunts, Barbara Jean Brooks, Essie Mae Savoy, Virginia Johnson (Eugene), Lottie Snowden, Emma- Jean Lewis, Annie-Mae Abney, Elizabeth Rutherford (Donald) and Judy Camack (MacArthur), mother-in-law, Mary White; sister-in-law, Pamela White, brother-in-law, Timothy White, devoted family and friend, Brian Brooks and Eric Holley, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family members and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, January 18, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Bethlehem Baptist Church. Public viewing will be on Tuesday, January 17, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Fred B. Pratt Memorial Chapel. A mask or face covering is required to enter the funeral home.
