Mr. Ernest A. Singley known affectionately by "Bubba" by family and friends, passed away on Monday, September 6, 2021 at Prisma Health Richland.
He was born in Newberry, South Carolina to the late Mary Means Singley-Dewalt and the late Furman Singley.
He received his education in Newberry County public schools. He was a graduate of Gallman High School Class of 1964. He was employed by Newberry Housing Authority for 26 years. He loved coaching. He coached softball, baseball, football, and several men's basketball teams.
Mr. Singley was predeceased by a daughter, Becky Siobhan, two sons, Baby Boy Singley and Jared Singley, sisters, Geneva, Bernice and Sarah and a brother, Rickie Singley.
Those who celebrate his life include his wife of 54 years Margaret "Becky" Singley, son, Aaron Singley (Cassandra), daughters, Renee Heller (Randy, Donna Maybin (Joe); grandaughters, Rantreca, DeAlva, Norlaine, Shondra, Kyshari, JaNadia, Tanasia and Atia; grandsons, Jarious, Markell, Keandra and Jayveon; fifteen great-grandchildren, sisters, Willa Brown and Hazel Starks of Newberry, SC; six sisters-in-law, two brothers-in-law, a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. He also leaves a faithful cousin/brother, Odell "Shot" Means and close friends including adopted sons, Trent Wallace, John "Buster" Adams and James Butler who will truly miss him.
Graveside service will be held on Friday, September 10, 2021 at 3:00 PM at Bush River Baptist Church. All in attendance are asked to wear a mask or face covering and to practice social distancing.
