Annie Gray Obituary

DEACONESS ANNIE BELL GRAY was called to rest from earthy labor on the evening of March 30,2024 at the Lexington Community Hospice House Agape care, and now in the caring hands of our Lord and Savior.

Deaconess Annie Bell Gray, was born on December 24, 1939 to the late Alexander and Rebecca Lane Jeter. She was the ninth of fourteen children, nine of them preceded her in death.

Annie Bell was blessed to have two sons Ricky Anthonia Jeter and the late Michael Leon Crutchfield.  In 1993 she married the late Isaiah Gray. 

Annie Bell received her primary education in Newberry County and completed her secondary education at the Gallman High and graduated in the class of 1959.  Annie Bell, worked and retired from American Fiber & Finishing Inc. Mill.  She also was working part time for the Newberry Elementary school, until her illness.

At an early age she gave her life to Christ. Annie Bell was dedicated to serving the Lord and her church where ever she worshipped. She was a devoted member of the Boozer Chapel Baptist Church under the leadership Rev. Bill Stringfellow, where she became a Deacon.

Annie Bell Gray was a sweet person who loved everyone, especially her family. She loved visiting family and friends that she hadn’t seen in a while, and especially the ones that were home bound. She loved to talk and she talked and talked to anyone who would listen to her for hours. She also loved to dress to impress and she did it well. Annie Bell will truly be missed by all that loved her.

Annie Bell Gray was preceded in death by her parents Alexander and Rebecca Lane Jeter, son Michael Leon Crutchfield, her husband Isaiah Gray, three sisters  Christine Vanlue, Azalee McLilly Robinson, Mary Ellen Jeter: six brothers, Luther Jeter, Henry Jeter, Alexander Jeter, Jr., Robert Lewis Jeter,  Thomas Jeter, and Marion Jeter.

Annie Bell leaves to cherish her precious memory, her son Ricky A Jeter, four brothers, Reverend Edward Jeter (Betty Jane), Coley Jeter, both from Whitmire, SC., James Jeter (Jacqueline) and David Jeter (Patricia) both from Union, SC., Sister in law Catherine Jeter of Teaneck, NJ and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted on Saturday, April 6, 2024 at 1:00 pm at Bethlehem Baptist Church.  Burial will follow in Boozer Chapel Baptist Church cemetery.  Viewing will be on Friday, April 5, 2024 from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the Fred B. Pratt Memorial Chapel.
