Bessie Mae (Toland) Boyd

Funeral services for Mrs. Bessie Mae Toland Boyd, age 76, will be conducted on Thursday, July 21, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Hannah AME Church.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Boyd passed away on Sunday, July 17, 2016 at her home.  Born in Prosperity, South Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Ernest Toland and the late Bertha Lindler Toland.  Mrs. Boyd was a faithful and active member of Hannah AME Church where she was a member of the Senior Choir, the Missionary Society, Secretary of the Senior Choir, Treasurer of Building Fund and President of Stewardess Board until her health declined. She was also a member of Women's Home Aide Society #16 and a former employee of American Fiber & Finishing.

Mrs. Boyd was predeceased by daughters, Earnestine Dewalt and Elease Caldwell; sisters, Ellen B. Mayer and Essie Boyd; brothers, Wade Toland and George Toland.

Surviving are her husband, Earnest Boyd; daughters, Betty Ann Stoudemire (Randy) of Prosperity, SC; Delphine Greenwood (George) of Newberry, SC; Angela Heller (Eddie) of Pomaria, SC; sons, Kenneth Boyd (Lorraine) and Randy Boyd (Barbara) of Prosperity, SC; Mark Boyd (Lisa) of Columbia, SC; sisters, Annie Lee Holley of Newberry, SC; Clara Mae Caldwell of Lexington, SC; devoted granddaughter, Kimberly Boyd; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
