Willie Hodges Gallman

Mr. Willie H. Gallman passed away on Monday, December 14, 2020 at Lexington Medical Center.

Willie Hodges Gallman was born December 1, 1953 in Prosperity, South Carolina. He was the son of the late Luther Gallman, Sr. and the late Annie Belle Wise Gallman.  He accepted Christ at an early age and became a member of Mt. Moriah AME Church  where he served as a Steward, a member of the Financial Committee, Sons of Allen and the Usher Board.  Willie was employed at West Vaco/Capstone in Kinards for over 35 years.  He was also an employee of First Citizens Bank in Prosperity, SC.  Willie was educated in the public schools of Newberry County.  He had a passion for reading and discussing the Bible.

Willie was predeceased by a sister, Martha Dell Gallman.

Surviving are his devoted companion, Willie Jean Maybin of the home; daughter, Kea Gallman of Columbia, SC; sisters, Lorraine Harris (Ronald) of Aiken, SC; Janis Murray (Carlos) of Irmo, SC; Lisa Elkins (Tyrone) of Prosperity, SC; brother, Luther Gallman, Jr. (Deborah) of Newberry, SC; two grandchildren, Haidyn and Braylon Dewalt; two aunts, Ethelene Toland of Prosperity, SC; Ethel Adams of North Augusta, SC; two uncles, Colie Wise of Detroit, MI; Moses Wise (Mildred) of Prosperity, SC; mother-in-law, Laura Mae Maybin of Newberry, SC; son-in-law, Roderick Dewalt; two sisters-in-law, two brothers-in-law, a host of other loving relatives and caring friends.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, December 19, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Newberry Memorial Gardens. All in attendance are asked to wear a face mask or covering and to practice social distancing.
