Mrs. Velcenia Burton Williams passed away on Sunday, June 6, 2021 at Lexington Medical Center.
She was born in Lexington, South Carolina, to the late Jessie Burton, Sr. and the late Helen Tucker Burton. Mrs. Williams was a member of Greater Hopewell A. M. E. Church.
Mrs. Williams was predeceased by her father and mother-in-law Tommie and Bettie Lee Williams.
Mrs. Williams is survived by her husband, Andrew Williams; daughters, Lucretia (Randy) Sanders of Blair, SC, Bridget Williams (Kelvin Wallace) of Chapin, SC; sons, Lamont (Tara) Williams of Chapin, SC, Alonzo (Tracey) Burton of Columbia, SC; sisters, Ruthie Mae (Billy) Cox and Hazel (Sherman) Cannon of Columbia, SC, Hattie (Eddie) Hinnant of Irmo, SC; brothers, Jessie (Louise) Burton and Paul (Mary) Burton of Columbia, David (Pamela) Burton of Irmo, SC; six grandchildren, one great-grandchild, one aunt, one uncle, four sisters-in-law, Shirley Burton of Irmo, SC, Rosetta Burton of Columbia, SC, Ruth Brown and Beathrie Mayers both of Newberry, SC; brothers-n-law, Anthony (Shirley) Williams of Little Mountain, SC, Olin (Judy) Williams of Prosperity, SC, Johnny (Gail) Williams and Charlie (Lois) Williams both of Irmo, SC, Benny (Vena) Dreher of Annapolis, MD, Thomas (Clayvon) Williams of Columbia, SC and James (Wilma) Williams of Batesburg, SC, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins family and friend that will truly miss her.
Funeral service will be held at Greater Hopewell A. M. E. Church (parking lot) on Monday, June 14, 2021 at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at 1:00 PM at Fort Jackson National Cemetery, 4170 Percival Road, Columbia, SC. All in attendance are asked to wear a mask or face covering and to practice social distancing.
