Obituary
Mr. Tony R. Cannon was born in Newberry, South Carolina to the late Julia Ruff. He was reared by his uncle and aunt the late Marion and Lillie Mae Sims. He passed away on Tuesday, June 13, 2023 at Lexington Medical Center.
Mr. Cannon was employed at McKechnie Vehicle Components. He was a United States Army veteran.
Mr. Cannon enjoyed watching sports and cleaning his Cadillac. He was a New York Giants fan.
Mr. Cannon is survived by his wife, Barbara G. Sims, children, Meko Sims, JerVonta Walker (Samantha), McKenzie Means (Jessica) and Shonda Sims (Sherod), brother, Ronnie Cannon (Vashtie), sister, Mary Mayers, grandsons, JerMir Walker and Jayden Means, granddaughters, Sakiya Bates and Kennedi Means, devoted friends, Richard Grey and David Austin, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, June 18, 2023 at 3:00 pm at Bethlehem Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Newberry Memorial Gardens. Public viewing will be on Saturday, June 17, 2023 from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the Fred B. Pratt Memorial Chapel.
