Thomas (Dan) Lee Higgins

Graveside services for Mr. Thomas Higgins will be conducted on Tuesday, September 1, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Mt. Zion AME Church in Jalapa, SC.

Mr. Thomas Lee (Dan) Higgins, age 93, passed away on Thursday, August 27, 2020 at JF Hawkins Nursing Home in Newberry, SC. Born in Kinards, SC on May 20, 1927 to the late James Tucker Higgins and the late Rose Price Higgins.

Mr. Higgins was retired from Whitten Center in Clinton, SC after many years of service. He attended Mt. Zion AME Church in Jalapa, SC.

He was predeceased by his twin sister, Rosa Lee "Toosie" Higgins Kinard; brother, James Charles Higgins; sister-in-law, Adell Connor Higgins; brother-in-law, Peter Kinard, Jr.

Surviving are nieces, Daisy P. Taylor, Dorothy K. Miller (Leroy) and Patricia Rose Kinard, nephews, Larry J. Kinard (Brenda) and Roosevelt Kinard (Elaine) all of Newberry, SC; a host of other nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews, other family and friends.  

Due to the current pandemic, all those in attendance are asked to wear a mask or face covering and practice social distancing.
