Thomas Eddie Duckett

On Friday, November 13, 2020, Thomas Eddie "Tump" Duckett,  Sr., loving husband, brother, friend and father of three children, passed away at the age of 59, at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, SC.

Thomas was born on June 12, 1961 in Newberry, South Carolina to the late Charles and Dorothy Wilson Duckett.  He attended Calvary Baptist Church and was a member of Son of Aides Lodge #48.  He attended Gallman High School and was a loyal worker of The Newberry Observer for more than twenty years.

Thomas favorite thing to do was spend time with his family and friends.  He had a passion for football.   His favorite teams were the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Clemson Tigers.

Thomas was predeceased by two brothers, Charles Richard Duckett, Sr. and James Maffett; mother-in-law, Hattie Mae Mills and father-in-law, Alphonso Mills.

Thomas leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife, Ada Duckett of the home; daughter, Dorothy Lucille Duckett (Alisha W.); son, Thomas E. Duckett, Jr. both of Newberry, SC; step-daughter, Janet Nicole Culbreath (Quentin) of Aiken, SC; three sisters, Susan E. Clark (George), Kathy Duckett, and Gwendolyn M. Duckett all of Newberry, SC; two grandchildren, Quamarion Duckett of the home; Myracle Culbreath of Aiken, SC; one aunt, George Ann Pearson; devoted nieces, Comoda Duckett and Tawanda (Jamel) Sligh; nephews including devoted nephew Kenya Duckett, Pasqual Duckett, George Duckett, Craig Ruff (Christy) and Hamp Ruff (Tandra); two brothers-in-law, Sonny Culbreath (Courtney) and Raymond Sims; special devoted friend, Claude Mathis.

Graveside services will be conducted on Friday, November 20, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Calvary Baptist Church.  All in attendance are asked to wear a mask or face covering and to practice social distancing.
