Mrs. Rozell Nance Caldwell was born in Newberry, South Carolina to the late Mr. Robert Nance, Sr. and the late Mrs. Ella Abney Nance. She entered into Eternal Rest on Wednesday, January 4, 2023.
Mrs. Caldwell was the Leading Lady at Renwick Grove Baptist Church and Little Beaverdam Baptist Church. She was a member of Bethlehem Baptist where she served on the Deaconess Board. She was also a member of Women's Home Aide Society, Order of the Eastern Star, NAACP, Guardian Ad Litem and Pastors Wife Auxiliary of the New Enoree Baptist Association.
Mrs. Caldwell was a graduate of Gallman High School and Benedict College. She was a teacher and a school administrator and retired after 37 years from the Newberry County School District.
Mrs. Caldwell was predeceased by her son, James Caldwell, III (Jamie), brothers, Robert Nance, Jr. and James Worthy; sister, Barbara Nance Floyd; brothers-in-law, Odell Caldwell, Rudolph Caldwell, Manus Caldwell, DDS and Randy Caldwell; sisters-in-law, Sarah Alice Caldwell Coleman and Shirley Caldwell Lee.
Mrs. Caldwell is survived by her husband, the Reverend James Caldwell, Jr.; daughters, Jacquette Caldwell, Jonnique Caldwell and Jada Caldwell Quinn (Dennis, Jr.); sister, Annie Delores Nance; grandchildren, Javante, Tarnisha, Savion, Jaden, Dennis and Wes; four sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, January 8, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Bethlehem Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Newberry Memorial Gardens. Public viewing will be on Saturday, January 7, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Fred B. Pratt Memorial Chapel. A mask or face covering is required to enter the funeral home.
