Rosa Mae (Wise) Williams

Rosa Mae Wise Williams, was born on July 26, 1949, in Newberry County. She departed for this earthly realm on June 15, 2023 at Lexington Medical Center.

Ms. Williams did custodial work for many years. Until her declining health had taken a toll on her life, she did custodial work at the laundromat in Prosperity, SC for several years.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by three siblings, Carrie Mae Wise, Jimmy Wise and James Wise.

She leaves to mourn her passing, but cherish precious memories, her long-time companion for 40+ years, Robert “Chip” Boyd, Jr., of the home; two sons, Todd (Abbigail) Williams of Prosperity, SC and Jimmy (Tameka) Williams of Chester, SC; one step-daughter, Towanda Bolden of Newberry, SC; three sisters, Rosette Wise, Essie Wise and Lula Brown, all of Prosperity, SC; two brothers, Allen Wise and Henry Wise, both of Prosperity, SC; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; aunt, Thelma Goodson of Newberry, SC; three devoted nieces, Lisa Wise, Deborah Bates and LaVelma Toland of Prosperity, SC; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, including a devoted friend, Johnny Dawkins of Prosperity, SC.

Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, June 21, 2023 at 1:00 pm at the Fred B. Pratt Memorial Chapel.  Burial will follow at Newberry Memorial Gardens.  Public viewing will be on Tuesday, June 20, 2023 from 2:00 pm  to 6:00 pm at the Fred B. Pratt Memorial Chapel.
