Robert David Young, Sr.

     Mr. Robert David Young, Sr., age 67, passed away on February 1, 2021 at University Hospital in Newark, New Jersey. Mr. Young was born in Fairfield County, South Carolina on March 25, 1953 to Robert Lee Morgan, Sr and Gracie Mae Young. He was a 1971 graduate of Newark Tech School of Technology. He was a longtime resident of South Carolina until he moved back to Newark, New Jersey in 1990. He enjoyed cooking, baseball and carpentry. He was employed with various construction sites in the area until his health began to fail. He always would speak of going fishing again down South.

Mr. Young was predeceased by his dear grandmother, Mrs. Sallie Jackson Baxter, mother, Gracie Mae Hall, stepfather, James Henry Hall, three sisters, Sallie Hall Ridley, Katherine L Hall and Yvonne Gaston, one brother Horace Hall and devoted aunt Lillie Camack.

Surviving are his father, Robert Lee Morgan, Sr. (Fort Mead, MD), sons, David Purvis of Newark, NJ, Robert Young, Jr. of Cameron, NC, daughters, Janet Coleman of Newark, NJ, Keyonia Y. (Murray) Johnson of Prosperity, SC, sisters Vivion (Bob) Ferguson of Cleveland Heights, OH, Joyce (Norfleet) Rand of Middletown, DE, Beverly Cheatham of Newark, NJ, Gwendolyn Hall of Newark, NJ, Shirley (Kelvin) Morgan-Jordan of Temple Hill, MD, brothers, James (Denise) Hall of Blair, SC and Robert Morgan, Jr (Fort Mead, MD) and devoted sister/aunts Loraine (Joel) Ingram of Lugoff, SC and Mary Burns of Edgewood, MD, 11 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relative and friends.

A memorial service will be held for immediate family only on Sunday, February 28, 2021 at 3:00 PM at Pratt Funeral Home Chapel.  All in attendance are asked to wear a mask or face covering and to practice social distancing.
