Robert Boozer Kennedy

Robert Boozer Kennedy also known as “Boozer” was born in Newberry, South Carolina on January 10, 1943. He is the son of the late Elliott Boozer and Ellabelle Kennedy Williams. Boozer departed this life on March 27, 2021 after a brief illness.

Boozer was raised the early part of his life in Newberry, SC where he attended Newberry County schools. Upon completion of school Boozer relocated to Yonkers, NY to reside with his sister Geneva Moon. After a few years of living in the same building Boozer was inducted into the Worrell/Dessesow family. Boozer resided with his sister Antoinette (Raymond) Worrell for over forty plus years and was a loving Uncle to Rosalind, Raymond (Butch), Howard (Gaylord) and Sheila. Boozer was a great babysitter to us all!

Boozer was a fun and loving guy. He was employed for many years at King Fence in Yonkers, New York. Boozer loved to fish, do landscaping, and decorate for Christmas. Those who knew Boozer would know he loved “the backyard”. Boozer was an active member of the Magnificent Eight Fishing Club; he was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church and a former member of the Senior Choir under the leadership of Dr. Reverend Willie H Upshaw. Boozer was a member of Samuel H Dow American Legion #1017 Civil Defense Color Guard.
Boozer was loved and cared for by his sister Antoinette; two nieces Rosalind Moody, great-niece Alicia Worrell and one of his best “Pals” Richie Terry.
 

Boozer was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters Geneva Moon, Annie Williams and Carrie Williams; three brothers James Nathaniel Kennedy, Willie Earl Williams and Larry Williams.

He leaves to treasure his memories a twin brother Raymond Boozer Kennedy and a sister Sara Shorter. He also leaves his extended Dessesow sisters Doris Boston, Antoinette Worrell, Vivian Carter, Joyce Coleman and Regina Adams. Three God-children Wayne Carter, Sr., Aaron Gaither, Jon’Shel Lawrence and a best friend Wayne Blanks. A host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

A Celebration of Life for Robert Boozer Kennedy will be Thursday, April 1, 2021at Brooks Memorial Funeral  Home, Inc. in Yonkers, New York at 1:00 PM.
