Patsy (Stephens) Wise

Mrs. Patsy Stephens Wise  was born in Newberry County on July 23, 1946 and entered into Eternal Rest on Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at Newberry County Memorial Hospital.

Mrs. Wise was a woman of faith and the heart of her family.  She was a devoted member of Bethlehem Baptist Church where she was a member of the Pulpit Aid, Missionary, Usher Board, Mass Choir and served as the Secretary of the church.

Mrs. Wise was a graduate of Gallman High School Class of 1964.  She received her Bachelor's Degree from Benedict College and her Master's Degree from Clemson University.  Mrs. Wise served as an educator to generations in Saluda County Schools, Greenwood County Schools and retired from Mid-Carolina Middle School from a career that spanned decades.  Mrs. Wise was a member of the Order of Eastern Star #274, Women's Home Aide Society #92, and the Rosette's Bridge Club.

Mrs. Wise was predeceased by her husband, James Walter Wise; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Stephens; as well as other family members, John Abrams, Sara Abrams and Steffaune Stephens.

Left to cherish her memories are her son, Patrick Wise of Los Angeles, CA; sisters, Georgia Stephens of St. Albans, NY and Laura Stephens of Long Beach, NY; nephew, Marquis Stephens of Long Beach, NY; cousin, Alicia Renee' Wallace, her caregiver; Gloria Israel Howard, her caregiver; a special friend, Edward Wardell and a host of cousins and friends who will truly miss her.

Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, April 28, 2022 at 12:00 PM at the Fred B. Pratt Memorial Chapel.  Burial will follow in Werts Cemetery.  Public viewing will be held on Wednesday, April 27, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Fred B. Pratt Memorial Chapel.  A mask is required to enter the funeral home.
