Myrtle (Whitener) Sims

Mrs. Myrtle W. Sims, age 94, passed away on Thursday, January 28, 2021 at White Oak Manor-Newberry.

Mrs. Sims was born September 25, 1926 in Newberry, South Carolina to the late John Whitener and the late Carrie Lee Pressley Whitener.  She was a member of Miller Chapel AME Church.

Cherishing her loving memory are two sons, Curtis (Dorothy) Sims of Berkeley, CA, Earl Fisher of Jacksonville, FL, one daughter, Neddra (Frank) Cannon of Newberry, SC, one sister, Angie Davis of Newberry, SC, three grandchildren, Katina Cannon of  Newberry, SC, Shannon Sims of Milwaukee, WI, Sean (Jamie) Cannon of Simpsonville, SC, sister-in-law, Ethel Whitener of Newberry, SC, five great-grandchildren, cousins, Ida Mae Ruff and Shirby Duncan, devoted niece, Sharon Davis, caring friend, Eugene Wilson and a host of other loving relatives near and far.

Funeral services will be held for immediate family only.
