Munson P. Hunter

Funeral services for Mr. Munson P. (Bo) Hunter, Sr., age 100, will be conducted on Friday, January 4, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Pratt Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial will follow in New Hope Baptist Church cemetery.

Mr. Hunter passed away on Sunday, December 30 2018, at Laurens County Hospital.

Born in Jalapa, SC he was the son of the late Geneva E. Hunter and the late Lomas Pinson.

Mr. Hunter attended Mt. Olive AME church at an early age as well as New Hope Baptist Church and Brown Chapel AME. He served in the U.S. Army and a former member of VFW and Disabled Veterans.  He worked at Newberry Recapping for many years.

Mr. Hunter had many stories to tell especially when friends, children, and most of all grandchildren came around. We were blessed to have him so many years.

Mr. Hunter was  predeceased by his wife, Ida Mae Hunter; sons, Munson Jr., Charles, and Alfreddie Hunter; one brother, Daniel Hunter; three grandsons and one great-grandson.

Surviving are three daughters, Dorothy B.(Geno) Calloway of White Plains, New York, Geneva H. Richardson, of Laurens, SC;  Elizabeth A.(Richard) Hunter of Batesburg SC; three sons, John D. Hunter of Bronx, New York, Wallace E.(Vinnie) Hunter of Newberry, SC, David W. Hunter of Laurens, SC; he is also survived by 20 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren; one sister in law Ms. Bessie Clark Godfrey of Hampton, VA.;  many nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives. He will be missed by many. Mr. Hunter loved everyone at Senior Options as his second family. He made many friends there.
