Obituary
Ms. Mildred Lee Baxter was born in Newberry, South Carolina to the late Robert and Eria Kinard Baxter. She entered into Eternal Rest on Saturday, November 19, 2022 at her home.
Ms. Baxter was a member of Metropolitan Baptist Church and a retiree of Ise America Inc. of Newberry.
Ms. Baxter was predeceased by a daughter, Patti Elaine Crooks; brothers, Raymond, Sylvester, Willie, Robert, Jr., Freddie Lee Baxter, Jack Kinard (Black Jack), James Baxter and Johnnie Baxter; sisters, Addie, Shirley, Pearl, Minnie Lee, Lula Mae, Mamie and Elizabeth.
Ms. Baxter is survived by her husband, Robert Lee "Jack" Crooks; sons, Robert "Lil Jack" Crooks (Leisha) of Newberry, SC, Otis Crooks (Nancy) of Laurens, SC and David "Peewee" Baxter; sisters, Dorothy Bowers (Gettie) of Chapin, SC; Rebecca Baxter of New Jersey, Thomasina Eigner (Obie) of Newberry, SC and Carol Cooper of Florence, SC; brothers, Earl Baxter (Johnnie Mae) and Larry Baxter (Caroline) all of Newberry, SC; thirteen grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, one daughter-in-law, three brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, November 26, 2022 at 1:00 PM at the Fred B. Pratt Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow at Newberry Memorial Gardens. Public viewing will be on Friday, November 25, 2022 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Fred B. Memorial Chapel. A mask or face covering is required to enter the funeral home.
