Little Melody McKenzie McClurkin was born September 20, 2021 in Newberry County to Verekaious Herbert and JaDavian McClurkin. She entered into Eternal Rest on Monday, October 24, 2022 at Lexington Medical Center.
Melody was predeceased by her maternal grandfather, Allen Adam Herbert and great-grandmother, Katie Mae Murphy.
Surviving are her mother, Verekaious Herbert, father, JaDavian McClurkin; sisters, Timya Koonce and Alexandria Tribble; brother, Javone D. Koonce, Jr. all of Newberry, SC; maternal grandmother, Polly Evette Millier Sims of Newberry, SC; paternal grandmother, Marian McClurkin of Newark, NJ; paternal grandfather, Howard Mathis; maternal great-grandmother, Shirley Miller; aunts, Shirley Wheeler, Vanessa Wheeler, Vonchessar Bailey, Monique Williams, B. J. Williams, Laura Miller, Zee Marie, Cora Gary and Carol McClurkin; uncles, Deangelo Herbert, Mandrell Langford, Marques Walker, James Miller, Trevon McClurkin and Troy McClurkin, Jr.; cousins, Michael Gallman, Jr., Ricky Kinsler, Jr., Dameon Bookman and Deangelo Herbert, Jr. and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, November 1, 2022 at 3:00 PM at the Fred B. Pratt Memorial Chapel. Public viewing will be on Monday, October 31, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Fred B. Pratt Memorial Chapel. A mask or face covering is required to enter the funeral home.
