Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Kinard-Harmon, daughter of the late Mr. Claude Kinard, Sr. and the late Mrs. Carrie L. Bridges-Kinard was born July 9, 1953, in Prosperity, South Carolina.  She departed this earthly life and entered into the arms of Jesus on Thursday, July 1, 2021 at her home.

She was a member of Shiloh A. M. E. Church where she served as Pastor Steward, Church Secretary and the Missionary Vice President.   Mrs. Harmon was also Co-Founder of the organization Women on a Mission where she helped women and children in a crisis.   Mrs. Harmon attended Mid-Carolina High School.  She was awarded the Bennie Bennett Award from the Town of Prosperity for her service to the community. 

Her brother Claude Kinard, Jr., sister, Catherine Kinard and grandson, MyKell Kinard preceded her to Heaven.

Those left to cherish her precious memories are her husband, James Harmon of Prosperity, SC; God-father, Edward Harmon of Prosperity, SC; one son, London Kinard (Glenda) of Gilbert, SC; one daughter, McKeva Kinard-Shelton of Prosperity, SC; grandchild, Tru Kinard- Shelton reared in the home; three step-sons, Justin and Jordan Harmon of Alabama; Jeremy Harmon of Newberry, SC; one God-son, Jerome Boyd (Angela) of Baltimore, MD; one God-daughter, Shirley Jackson-Garmany (Robert) of Newberry, SC; ten grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, brother, Herman Kinard (Judy); one aunt, Mary Hurdle of Lancaster, PA; seven sisters-in-law, Betty Ann Kinard of Prosperity, SC; Barbara Mathis, Kathy Harmon, Metha Harmon, Eugenia Harmon, Susan Harmon and Doris Price (John) of Newberry, SC; a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, including Sheriff Lee Foster, Dr. Betty Peltier, Rev. Dr. Elaine Eskew (John), Mamie Ruff, Margaret Glasgow, Connie Shannon, Fay Henley and Patsy Sims.

Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, July 9, 2021 at 1:00 PM at Shiloh A. M. E. Church.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  All in attendance are required to wear a mask and to practice social distancing.
