Lucinda Reeder

Ms. Lucinda "Cindy" Reeder was born on July 20, 1934 to the late Willie Mack and Wygenia Reeder.  She departed this life on Friday, June 3, 2022 at Newberry County Memorial Hospital.

Cindy received her education in the Newberry County Public Schools.  She was a graduate of the former Drayton Street High School, class of 1954.  Upon graduation, Cindy moved to Charlotte, NC where she lived a few years, then moved to Washington, DC and to Temple Hills, MD where she lived until the death of her son.  She moved back to South Carolina due to health problems.

 Cindy was predeceased by her son, Brian Keith Reeder, a sister, Betty Dudley, nephew, a Jared Singley and a niece, Renee Spivey-James.

Cindy is survived by three sisters, Willie Mae  Spivey of Columbia, Clara Alston of Rockville, MD and Margaret "Becky" Singley of Newberry, SC; two brothers, Johnny (Rose) Reeder and James (Faye) Reeder of Newberry, SC and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins who will miss her smile and her ability to speak her mind.

Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, June 9, 2022 at 11:00 AM at the Fred B. Pratt Memorial Chapel.  Burial will follow in Bush River Baptist Church cemetery.  Public viewing will be held on Wednesday, June 8, 2022 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Fred B. Pratt Memorial Chapel.  A mask is required to enter the funeral home.

The family is at the home of Margaret "Becky" Singley, 2604 Pine Street, Newberry, SC.
