Mrs. Lois S. Williams was born November 10, 1940 in Newberry, South Carolina, to the late Magnolia Sligh and the late Johnny B. Hunter. She passed away on Thursday, December 2, 2021 at J. F. Hawkins Nursing Home.
Mrs. Williams retired from Louis Rich after 39 years of employment. She was a member of Women's Home Aid Society #15.
Mrs. Williams was predeceased by her husband, Edd Williams, son, Thomas Sligh, daughter Ola M. Hiller, brothers, Anthony Sligh, James Earl Sligh, and Dennis Byrd, sister, Betty Jean Sligh, grandson, Willie Eddie Hiller, granddaughter, Elizabeth Hiller Lemon, aunts, Willie Mae Glasgow and Mae Frances Sligh.
Those left to cherish her life and precious memories are her daughters, Maggie Lee Sligh, Eddie Mae Sligh, Dianne Sligh (Willie) of the home, and Eloise Sligh (Kevin); son, Andre Lamont Cromer, adopted son, Diamond Hiller; sister, Emma Lee Eigner (Eddie); brothers, John Willie Sligh (Mary), Willie Lee Sligh (Linda), Eugene Gallman and Robert Gallman; grandchildren reared in the home, Barbara Hiller, Laytoyta Jackson, James K. Sligh, Kevin Smith, Jr., Tiffany Sligh, Keith Smith, Jesica Sligh, Precious Sligh, Treyvon Smith, Desmond Sligh, April Cromer, Michella Cromer, and Dykerious Jackson; 48 eight great-grandchildren including four great-granddaughters, Mahagony A. Cromer, Amaya Smith, I'yonna Jackson and McKenzie Jackson; 28 great-great grandchildren, two sisters-in-law, Debra Williams and Laura Mae Kinard, one brother-in-law, Ronnie Burton; two God daughters, Rev. Jacqueline R. Sims (Lyndell) and Lashanda Agnew, a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, December 8, 2021 at 1:00 PM at Werts Cemetery. All in attendance are asked to wear a mask or face covering and to practice social distancing. Viewing will be on Tuesday, December 7, 2021 from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Fred B. Pratt Memorial Chapel.
