Jerry L. Jeter, Sr.

Mr. Jerry L. Jeter, Sr. passed away on June 2, 2023 at Bridgeport Hospital in Bridgeport, CT.

Mr. Jeter attended Newberry County Public Schools.  He left Newberry at an early age.  He was employed at Fairfield County Sprinkler as a fabricator in Westport, CT.  He worked on cars and was very good at it.  He also enjoyed playing pool and golf. He often came home with some very large trophies from pool tournaments.  He also participated in a CB Club and his handles were "442" and "Junkie".  Mr. Jeter was a good soul, person and father.

He was predeceased by his parents the late Grady "Feet" Jeter and the late Mabel "Mae" Chaplin Jeter; sister, Amy Jeter-Wise and his beloved son, Jerry L. Jeter, Jr.

Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Naimah E. Harris of Newberry, SC, son, Kevin Watts of Clinton, SC, brother, George Jeter (Net) of Saluda, SC, sister, Carrie Dianne Swindler of Spartanburg, SC, brother/cousin, William "Billy" Parks (Edwina) of Newberry, SC, grandson, Javon Jeter-Copeland of Georgia, granddaughter, Joi J'adore Harris of Newberry, SC, devoted friend, Laura of Bridgeport, CT, three aunts, Louvenia Williams, Newberry, SC, Mildred C. Dyer of Raleigh, NC and Annie W. Chaplin of Irmo, SC, ex-wife, Velma Jeter-Stephens of Silverstreet, SC a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 17, 2023 at 2:00 pm at the family home on Dennis Dairy Road in Newberry, SC.
