Jerry Lee " Pimp" Davis

Funeral services for Mr. Jerry Lee  "Pimp" Davis, age 70, will be conducted on Monday, March 25, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Pratt Funeral Home Chapel. 

Mr.  Davis entered into Eternal Rest on Monday, March 18, 2019, after an extended illness. He was born on April 23, 1947, in Newberry, South Carolina, to the parentage of the late Gunzalee Davis and Jessie Osby Davis.

Mr. Davis was a former member of Boozer Chapel Baptist Church in Newberry, South Carolina. He attended Newberry County Schools. Prior to retirement, Jerry was employed at Oakland Mills and Ira T. Cousins. He retired from Senior Catering Service in Newberry, South Carolina, after sixteen years.

As an avid sportsman he enjoyed playing basketball and watching Pittsburgh Steelers football games. Jerry enjoyed singing and dancing.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Jessie Osby Davis and Gunzalee Davis; grandparents, James “Doc” Davis and Ada Lee Davis; and several aunts and uncles.

He leaves to cherish fond memories one brother, William Calvin (Lilia) of Newberry, SC; one nephew, Marcus D. Chapman of Spartanburg, SC; six aunts, Lonnie Pennie, Ansy Scott, Harriette Zeigler, LueVester Davis, LueCrecie Gladney and Elizabeth Dunlap; four uncles, Brady Davis, Quincy Davis, Alexander Davis and Rev. G. Bernard Davis; devoted friend, Diane Johnson of Newberry, SC; special friends, J.C., Leroy, Forest, Bill and Pritchett; and a host of other relatives and friends are left to cherish his memory.
