James P. Samuel

Mr. James P. Samuel passed away on Sunday, May 23, 2021.

Mr. Samuel was born in Prosperity, South Carolina on June 2, 1954 to the late Lawson Samuel and the late Annie Lee Rikard Samuel. 

He attended Mid-Carolina High School.

Mr. Samuel was predeceased by siblings, Bonnie Wilson, Gussie Mae Bookman, Eugene Samuel and Ernest Rikard.

Surviving are his wife, Barbara Russell Samuel; daughters, Colisha Samuel of Augusta, GA, Wandra Lashawn Wise (Christopher), Tawana Whitener (Lewis) and Shanta Shanell Samuel, sons, Jamie Ettwan Samuel (Alisha) all of Newberry, SC, Miguel Jefferson of Sacramento, CA; sisters, Katie M. Robinson (Leroy) of Batesburg-Leesville, SC, Henrietta Samuel of Newberry, SC, Kathy D. Samuel of Columbia, SC and Phyllis A. Ruff of Newberry, SC; brothers, Lawson Samuel of Newberry, SC, Kenneth Samuel (Jannie) of Prosperity, SC and Rodney Wise of Newberry, SC; eleven grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, three sisters-in-law, Rev. Dr. Adelia Davis of Columbia, SC, Albert Rikard of Columbia, SC and Katherine Ann Samuel of Prosperity, SC; two brothers-in-law, Authur Davis of Nashville, TN and Jackie Crooks of Newberry, SC other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 27, 2021 at 2:00 PM at the Fred B. Memorial Chapel.  All in attendance are asked to wear a mask and to practice social distancing.
