James Edward Harrington, Jr.

Mr. James Edward Harrington, Jr., affectionately known as "Jim Doc," was born in Westchester County, New York to Mrs. Dorothy Ruff Means and the later Mr. James Edward Harrington, Sr.  He entered into Eternal Rest on Thursday, November 17, 2022.

Mr. Harrington was a graduate of Newberry High School.

Mr. Harrington is survived by his mother Mrs. Dorothy Ruff Means; sons, Johnathan James Harmon of Newberry, SC, Rico Martez Harrington of Union, SC, Melik Heru Harrington of Marietta, Ga., Naeem SunRa Harrington and Khalid Amia Harrington both of Newberry, SC and Antonio Leneal Attaway of Hopkins, Kentucky; sisters, Denise Harrington Levy and Leslie Means Johnson both of Decatur, Ga., brothers, Tommie Gordon Ruff of Decatur, Ga. and Curtis Rice of Union, SC; close friend, Mary Ann Gilliam; eight grandchildren, four aunts, two uncles, one sister-in-law, nieces, nephews, numerous cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, November 25, 2022 at 1:00 PM at the Fred B. Pratt Memorial Chapel.  Public viewing will be on Wednesday November 23, 2022 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Fred B. Memorial Chapel. A mask or face covering is required to enter the funeral home.
