James Gary, Jr.

A Celebration of Life for Mr. James "Slug" Gary,  Jr. will  be conducted Saturday September 28, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Calvary Baptist Church.

Slug passed away on Saturday, September 21, 2019 at Self Regional Hospital in Greenwood, SC.  Born in Newberry County, he was the son of Lajune S. Gary and the late James Gary, Sr..  He graduated from Newberry High School and attended Denmark Technical College in Denmark, SC.

Slug was predeceased by a brother, Joseph Suber.

Surviving are a daughter, Takiya S. Gary, Newberry, SC; sisters, Donna M. Maybin and Lourinda L. Maybin, both of Newberry, SC; brothers, Paul E. Suber (Veronica) of Naples, Florida, Myron Floyd (Sheena) of Anderson, SC, and Nathan M. Suber (Mary) of Newberry, SC; grandchildren, Anthony Wise, Jr.  and Ariel Wise; devoted aunt and uncle, Columbus and Debra Gary, Jr.; 7 aunts; 4 uncles; 5 grand aunts; 17 nieces and nephews; 20 grand nieces and nephews; Finace, Stephanie Newman ; and a host of friends.
