Obituary
Ida Frances Maryland Mayer, affectionately called Maryland, was born July 3, 1935. She left this earthly realm Tuesday, April 26, 2022 A native of Prosperity, SC, she was the daughter of the late Arthur Benny and Lillie Mae Caldwell Mayer.
She attended Howard School in Prosperity, SC.
As a young adult, she moved to Montclair:, NJ in 1957 where she lived a number of years, later moving to Chicago, IL to live with her sister. Maryland was a devoted and loving aunt who cared and help reared her nieces and nephews. She live a simple but meaningful life, and loved traveling with her family.
Maryland joined Antioch Baptist Church at an early age. She was a member of the Ladies Aide Society.
Predeceased siblings: Brothers: James Arthur Mayer, Adam B, Mayer, Herbert Benny Mayer, Timothy Mayer, Johnny Webster Mayer, Jasper Mayer; Sisters: Virginia Mayer Jones, Doris Mayer Neealy, Edna Ruth Mayer McMorris.
Loving Family: Brother, Billy B. (Bobby) Mayer, Newberry, SC; Sisters Willie Mae Mayer Brown, Greenville, SC; Betty Jean Mayer Corley, Norristown, PA; Jeanette Jackson, Dalzell, SC; Lillie Tobe, Columbia, SC; Sister-in-law, Rose G. Mayer, Montclair, NJ; 150 plus Nephews, Nieces, Great Nephews, Great Nieces, Great Great Nephews, Great Great Nieces, Cousins, Devoted Friends.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, May 7, 2022 at 11:00 AM at the Fred B. Pratt Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow in Newberry Memorial Gardens. Public viewing will be on Friday, May 6, 2022 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Fred B. Pratt Memorial Chapel. A mask is required to enter the funeral home.
