Gerald Blake Sims

Mr. Gerald Blake Sims was born June 8, 1954 in Newberry, SC to William Cannon and the late Dorothy "Dot" Sims Lemon.  He passed away on Sunday, March 20, 2022 at his home.

Mr. Sims was a member of New Enoree Baptist and a former employee of American Fiber and Finishing.

Mr. Sims was predeceased by his wife, Joan Nelson Sims, a devoted Mother by whom he was reared, Ms. Hixsey Caldwell "Ma Hixsey." and brother Charles A. Sims.

Left to cherish his precious memories are his daughters, Mechelle Sims, Cynthia Dibble (Marshall), and Tammy Sims all of Columbia, SC; brothers, William Cannon, Jr. (Vicki) of Lanham, MD, Thomas E. Lemon (Teresa) of Baltimore, MD, Stanley J. Lemon of Washington, DC, Miker A. Lemon (Brenda) and Greg M. Lemon of Clinton, SC and Ronnie F. Lemon of Batesburg, SC; sisters, Robbie Diamond of Columbia, SC; Juanita Pray, Sharon Brooking (Robert), Twyla Green and Jerussia Dodd (Paul) all of Lanham, MD; devoted cousin reared in the home, Hixsey C. Burton of Newberry, SC, ten grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, six sisters-in-law to include Betty of Newberry, SC; , a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A Graveside Service will be conducted on Sunday, March 27, 2022 at 12:00 pm at Newberry Memorial Gardens  Viewing will be on Saturday, March 26, 2022 at the Fred B. Pratt Memorial Chapel from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm.  A mask is required to enter the funeral home.
