Mrs. Georgia Mae Rutherford Caldwell was born January 11, 1943 in Newberry, South Carolina to the late Sammy Lindsay and the late Jessie Mae Rutherford Coleman. She entered into Eternal Rest on Monday, March 21, 2022 at Prisma Health Richland Hospital.
Mrs. Caldwell was a member of Pleasant Grove AME Church for many years where she was a member of the Usher Board. She later became a member of New Enoree Baptist Church where she was a member of the Usher Board. Mrs. Caldwell attended Drayton Street School and retired from Renfro.
Mrs. Caldwell was predeceased by her mother-in-law, Louise Missouri Caldwell, father-in-law, L. C. Caldwell.
Mrs. Caldwell is survived by her husband, James Caldwell, daughters, Phyllis Annette Caldwell of the home and Trena Denise (Niece) Caldwell (Larry Wise) of Newberry, SC; adopted son, Derrick Lamonte Caldwell Poole; sisters, Lillia Maybin (Cal), Ida Mae Alexander and Nancy Chaplin; grandchildren, Taisha S. Williams-Caldwell, Jalen J. Bates-Caldwell, Tremarious Sims, Landon and Logan Davis, Shakur, great-granddaughter, Kaizley Nova Abercrombie Caldwell, sisters-in-law, Dorothy Greeley and Geraldine Davis Miller (Charles), nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of others that knew her as Grandma.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 25, 2022 at 12:00 pm at the Fred B. Pratt Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow at New Enoree Baptist Church cemetery. Viewing will be on Thursday, March 24, 2022 at the Fred B. Memorial Chapel from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm. A mask is required to enter the funeral home.
