George Hunter, Jr.

 Minister George Hunter, Jr., age 80, of Newberry, SC passed away Wednesday, February 3,2021 .

He was born in Newberry SC , August 31, 1940 to the late Luvenia Moses Hunter and the late George Washington Hunter, Sr.  Mr. Hunter was a kind , noble man , never met a stranger and imparting words of wisdom and empathy to all. He loved his family and his children unconditionally , he had a smile to brighten your day.

He was preceded by sisters, Willie M. Cunningham and Dorothy Hunter Houseal ; brothers, Larry E Hunter, James L Hunter and Macedonia Hunter Gallman.

George leaves 3 children, Shirley (Curtis) Lindsay, George Hunter and Thomas Lyles; 3 sisters, Daisy Maitland of Newberry, SC, Barbara Houseal Williams of Pomaria, SC and Sue Houseal of Hayward, California, 8 brothers, Nathaniel (Margaret) Hunter of Columbia S C., Minister Charles Hunter of Indiana, Pastor John ( Darlene) Hunter and Gary Hunter of Whitmire, SC, Harold (Mary) Hunter of Clayton, NC,  Robert L. (Minnie) Hunter, Calvin Holley, Bernard (Faye) Holley of Newberry, SC, 1 uncle, Augustus Hunter of Brooklyn, NY, 25 grandchildren, 21 great-grand children, a hosts of nieces and nephews, and other relatives and a devoted friend, Deborah Wyatt.

A graveside service will be conducted on Thursday, February 11, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Werts Cemetery.  All in attendance are asked to wear a mask or face covering and to practice social distancing
