Mrs. Ethel Mae Nelson was born in Newberry, South Carolina to the late James Peter Young and the late Lossie Mae Johnson Spearman. She entered into Eternal Rest on Friday, May 26, 2023 at Prisma Health Richland Hospital.
Mrs. Nelson attended Mt. Zion Baptist Church. She attended Newberry County Public Schools.
Mrs. Nelson is survived by her daughter, Angel Watson of Clinton, SC, companion, Thomas Watson of Joanna, SC; sisters, Mattie Chalmers and Shirley P. Jessie both of Newberry, SC, Yvette Pratt Johnson (Leonard) of Irmo, SC; brothers, Alvin Young of Newberry, SC; brothers, Cedric Pratt of Greenville, SC and Tyrone Pratt of Columbia, SC, uncle, Jessie James Johnson of Newberry, SC, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, June 1, 2023 at 2:00 pm at the Fred B. Pratt Memorial Chapel. Public viewing will be on Thursday, June, 2023 from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at the Fred B. Pratt Memorial Chapel.
