Deacon Thomas E. Gary, Sr.

Deacon Thomas E. Gary, Sr., age 81, passed away on Sunday, June 20, 2021.

Deacon Gary was a member of  Welch Zion Baptist Church where he was the Father of the Church, an Usher and Trustee.  He was also a volunteer with Harvest Hope Food Bank, dedicated Poll Worker for Voter Registration and transported the sick and elderly as needed.

Deacon Gary is survived by a son, Thomas E. Gary, Jr. (Desiree); sister, Ethel Whitener; two grandchildren, Tosha M. Gary and Tiffany N. Gary; seven great-grandchildren, Bryson Alston, Jayden Alston, Carter Alston, Jadarius Young, Tyler Young, Kaiden Hiller and India  Hiller; one sister-in-law, devoted family friend, Mary Suber and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 26, 2021 at 11:00 AM at the Fred B. Pratt Memorial Chapel.   Burial will follow at Werts Cemetery.  All in attendance are required to wear a mask or face covering and to practice social distancing.  Viewing will be held on Friday, June 25, 2021 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
