Mr. David Carlton Gilliam was born in Newberry, South Carolina to Margaret Gilliam Burton and the late James A. Cook, Sr. He passed away on Thursday, March 2, 2023 at White Oak Manor-Newberry.
Mr. Gilliam was a United States Army veteran. He attended Newberry County Public Schools.
Mr. Gilliam is survived by his mother, Margaret Gilliam Burton of Newberry, SC; daughter, LaTisha Gilliam of Waycross, GA; sister, Louvina Cook, brother, James Cook, Jr. both of Newberry, SC; aunt, Jessie Hill (Clyde) of Newberry, SC; uncle, John Gilliam of Georgia; devoted former wife, Phyllis Gilliam; cousins, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, March 7, 2023 at 12:00 pm at the Fred B. Pratt Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow at Werts Cemetery. Public viewing will be on Monday, March 6, 2023 from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the Fred B. Pratt Memorial Chapel. A mask or face covering is required to enter the funeral home.
