Cornell Wright

Mr. Cornell Wright, age 63, passed away on Tuesday, September 1, 2020 at his home.

Born in Newberry County, he was the son of the late Luther Edward Wright and the late Velma Williams Wright.  He was a member of St. Matthew Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and a member of Sons of Aide.  Mr. Wright was employed with Bobby Martin Logging Company for 34 years and Sligh Construction for seven years.  He enjoyed hanging out at his favorite spot Tiny's Fish Market.  He provided lawn care services throughout the Cannon Town Community.  Mr. Wright was a devoted Dallas Cowboys fan.

Mr. Wright was predeceased by his brother Bennie Wright.

Surviving are his daughter, Kashunda Wright-Williams (Frank) of Newberry, SC; son, Derrick Wright of Columbia, SC; grandchildren, Travon Gallman, Chandler Gallman, Taylor Kinard and McKenzie Kinard of Newberry, SC; sisters, Margie Brooks (Kalvin), Carolyn Garmany, Janice Wright (David) of Columbia, SC; Margaret Glasgow (Michael) of Prosperity, SC; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who loved and will miss him dearly; devoted friend, Dianne Eichelberger.

Graveside services will be conducted on Sunday, September 6, 2020 at 3 PM at Werts Cemetery.  All in attendance are asked to wear a mask or face covering and to practice social distancing.

Viewing will be from 5 PM until 7 PM Saturday September 5, 2020 only per family.
