Ms. Beverly (Glenn) Singleton was born in Newberry, SC to the late James Glenn and the late Ruby (Suber) Glenn. She passed away on Sunday, October 22, 2023, at Prisma Health Richland Hospital in Columbia, SC.
Ms. Singleton was a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Whitmire, SC., where she was the Church Clerk, the 50 Friends Coordinator and the Church Trip Coordinator. She was also a member of Women's Home Aid Society. She was a graduate of Gallman High School class of 1966. Ms. Singleton was the beautician for over 40 years with F. B. Pratt & Son Funeral Home. She retired from the School District of Newberry County as a bus driver and the ISS Monitor at Mid-Carolina High School.
Ms. Singleton was predeceased by her late husband Ira Singleton II, daughter Glenda Stephens, and brother George Glenn.
She is survived by her sons, Andra Glenn (Sara) of Temple, TX and Ira Singleton III (Nickie) of Tyrone, GA; son-in-law, Aaron Stephens of Newberry, SC; sisters, Yvonne Cook of Greenwood, SC, Lorraine Gray (Michael) of Greenwood, SC, and Evelyn Glenn of Greenwood, SC; step-son Ira Singleton III (Felissha) of Spartanburg, SC; godsons, Reggie Wicker of Irmo, SC and Alonzo “Rudy” Spry of Columbia, SC; dedicated friend, Mildred Goggans of Newberry, SC; grand-daughters reared in the home Azariah Stephens and Ariel Stephens of Newberry, SC; five other grandchildren and one great-grandchild; a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, October 28, 2023, at 11:00 am New Hope Baptist Church in Whitmire, SC. Public viewing will be on Friday, October 27, 2023, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the F.B. Pratt and Son Funeral Home in Newberry, SC.
