Bertha (Hawkins) Gallman

Mrs. Bertha Hawkins Gallman was born in Newberry, South Carolina to the late W. C. Hawkins and the late Bruth Neater Wise Hawkins.  She passed away on Saturday, October 14, 2023 at MUSC Health Columbia Medical Center.

Mrs. Gallman was a member of Jehovah's Witnesses.  She was a graduate of Newberry High School.

Mrs. Gallman was predeceased by sisters and brothers, Brucie Lee Hawkins, Clover H. Gallman, Lennie Bruce Hawkins and Henderson Sims Hawkins.

Mrs. Gallman is survived by her son, Lee Verne Gallman, Jr. (Shakeya) of Lexington, SC; sisters, Elaine Hawkins Maybin (Talton) of Newberry, SC, Janice Hawkins McCain (James) of Westville, SC and Virginia Hawkins of Washington, DC; three grandchildren, Dreeme Gallman, Lee Verne Gallman, III and Zuri Lee Gallman; former husband, Lee Verne Gallman, Sr. (Terri) of Blair, SC;a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, October 19, 2023 at 12:00 noon at the Fred B. Pratt Memorial Chapel.  Public viewing will be on Wednesday, October 18, 2023 from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the Fred B. Pratt Memorial Chapel.
